[Top 10] Teamfight Tactics Best Comps That Are Powerful

The addition of dragons to Set 7 has changed the way we play TFT completely.

The TFT meta is constantly changing due to new patch releases, and several balance updates. This is why it’s always best to know what the best comps are for the current patch to rank up and rise to greatness.

10. Dragonmancer ELISE carry (6 Dragonmancer, 4 Shapeshifter)

For the last couple of patches, Shapeshifters have been a great comp to play in TFT for easy wins, or at least farming LP by getting to the top 4. Elise is a very strong fighter thanks to her Spider Form ability, and there is nothing scarier than seeing a giant spider jumping from side to side destroying the enemy team

*MUST HAVE* Make sure to only play this comp if you have 2 Dragomancer emblems.

To play this comp you will need:

  • Elise - Main Carry (Obviously)
  • Neeko - Play her as your tank
  • Volibear
  • Sylas
  • Gnar
  • Lee Sin
  • Ashe
  • Swain

If played correctly you would have: 6 Dragonmancer, 4 Shapeshifters, 3 Jade, and 2 Whispers.

Item priority would be as follows: AP (Needlessly Large Rod), Mana (Tear of The Goddess), and a Spatula.

The items you build will focus on strengthening Elise's ability and attack power while also giving her some health regeneration so she doesn't get one shot before becoming SUPER strong.

For that you will need an Archangel's Staff, so she can do more damage as the team fight progresses, a Hand of Justice, providing her with ability and attack damage while also healing, and the MOST important of all: the Dragonmancer Emblem.

Apart from that you can play this comp normally, just make sure to give tank items to Neeko, and will work fine. If you have extra attack items give them to Swain (Statikk Shiv, Guinsoo's Rageblade, and Quicksilver work best)

Give your second Dragonmancer emblem to either Sylas or Gnar, that depends on which one is already stronger within your team.

Make sure to get these Dragonmancer Emblems through the carousel or augments. Also, make sure to boost Elise's ability with augments like Thrill of the Hunt or Triforce.

9. Dragon Alliance (3 Dragons)

Who the heck doesn’t want to play a comp with 3 dragons!? Dragons were added into set 7 of TFT and they provide a fresh new concept of how comps should be built. However, for teams to not be too overpowered, you can only have one dragon on your team to receive their type abilities.

But what if I told you you could play 3, or even 4 if you’re crazy like that, in a fun but extremely powerful comp?

*MUST HAVE* Make sure to only play this comp if you have the Dragon Alliance or Dragon Horde augment.

To play this comp you will need:

  • Daeja - Main Carry
  • Shi Oh Yu
  • Idas - Play as your tank
  • Bard
  • Yasuo

Item priority should be as follows: Recurve Bow, AP (Needlessly Large Rod), B.F. Sword

All dragons are pretty powerful on their own, however, you should try and have at least one item for each, or else you won’t be taking full advantage of their abilities.

For Daeja, your main carry, the best items are Guinsoo's Rageblade, Statikk Shiv, and Archangel's Staff. Other items that may also work are the Giant Slayer and Quicksilver. For Shi Oh Yu, you should 100% try to get at least a Bloodthirster or a Titan’s Resolve. Idas will be ok with any tank items.

Daeja is a very common dragon in comps now due to the buff of the Mirage trait which is why it goes well along with Yasuo of the same mirage trait. Accompanied by a strong tank in Idas, you will for sure dominate your opponents with this comp.

8. Assasin Olaf (4 Scalescorn, 4 Assassins)

Since the beginning of Set 7, Olaf has been a very reliable carry for lots of comps. To use him to his fullest capability, he has to have an assassin emblem in order to play along with other assassins as well.

Here’s how you can do that.

*MUST HAVE* Make sure to only play this comp if you have an Assasin Emblem.

To play this comp you will need:

  • Olaf - Main Carry (Obviously)
  • Braum - Play as your tank
  • Diana
  • Talon
  • Lilia
  • Shen
  • Thresh
  • Pyke

Item priority should be as follows: Sparring Gloves, Spatula, B.F. Sword.

Like with most assassin comps in the past, Infinity Edge is of vital importance as it will give you the critical attack chance and damage necessary to really succeed. Olaf also works very well with Runaan's Hurricane.

For this comp, it’s also important to equip Diana with AP damage items due to her amazing ability. If you want her perfect items, you would need Frozen Heart, Ionic Spark, and Rabadon's Deathcap. Any defensive items should be given to your main tank, Braum, or Shen only if he is already stronger in the early game.

This is one of the more fun comps to play as the Olaf-Diana combo does insane amounts of damage.

7. Nidalee Reroll (6 Jade, 4 Shapeshifter)

Trying to use a cost-1 character as your main character has always been tricky no matter what patch you started playing on. This, however, is definitely not the case with the beast that is Nidalee. With the right items, you can start winning your team fights right from the start of your match.

This is a pretty easy comp to play since you don’t need any specific augment or emblem.

To play this comp you will need:

  • Nidalee - Main Carry (Obviously)
  • Neeko - Play as your tank
  • Shi Oh Yu
  • Swain
  • Gnar
  • Soraka
  • Bard

Item priority should be as follows: B.F. Sword, Recurve Bow, AP (Needlessly Large Rod)

You really want to focus on building items that boost attack damage and attack speed since you want Nidalee to use her special ability as much as possible to do the most damage. The best items for Nidalee are Deathblade, Guinsoo's Rageblade, and Quicksilver. Another item that works great for her is the Giant’s Slayer.

Any defense items should be given to your tank, Neeko, and any extra attack items that you may have should be given to Shi Oh Yu such as the Bloodthirster, Giant’s Slayer, or Titan’s Resolve.

Since Nidalee is a cost-1 champion, make sure to try and roll as much as possible at the early stage of the game (Lvl 4 - 5 preferably) to get her to 3 stars. You can also try using the astral trait to your advantage in the early game to max her out quickly.

Don’t you ever dare underestimate a cost-1 champion, because before you know it they might just crush your entire team to shreds.

6. Venomous Bites (6 Whispers, 2 Shapeshifters)

As stated previously, using Elise as your carry is no joke. However, there is a more practical way to play her which will literally OBLITERATE your opponents in no time if played properly.

To play this, you will need:

  • Elise - Main Carry
  • Neeko - Play as your tank
  • Sy’Fen
  • Sylas
  • Thresh
  • Taric
  • Soraka

Item priority should be as follows: B.F. Sword, Recurve Bow, Negatron Cloak

Thanks to the Whisper trait, you won’t need to focus as much on attack damage for Elise, but rather on attack speed. Elise’s items should be as follows: Bloodthirster, Guinsoo's Rageblade, and Quicksilver. This will allow her to attack very quickly and shield up while doing so. Any tank items should be given to Neeko.

Now, it’s not crucial but Sy’Fen can also become your carry in the late game given the right items. Items such as Bloodthirster, Quicksilver, or Titan’s Resolve will help him stay alive for longer and use his rampage ability, which charges towards several enemy champions at once, dealing loads of damage

If possible, try rerolling at Lvl 7 to get Elise to 3 stars. If you are already low on health, focus on getting to Lvl 8 and improving your Sy’Fen instead.

5. Daeja Vu (6 Mirage, 4 Cavaliers)

If playing multiple dragons at once is not much of your style, there is still a great comp where you can use Daeja and the mirage trait to your advantage.

To play this you will need:

  • Daeja - Main Carry
  • Nunu - Play as your tank
  • Sejuani
  • Lilia
  • Yone
  • Yasuo
  • Hecarim

Item priority should be as follows: Recurve Bow, B.F. Sword, AP Needlessly Large Rod)

Daeja’s items should boost its attack speed and attack damage. Items such as Guinsoo’s Rageblade, Giants Slayer, and Quicksilver work best. Alternatively, you could also focus more only on ability power by using a Statikk Shiv, and Archangel's Staff. Any defense items should be given to your tank, Nunu.

Now, there is one thing that is very important to note with this comp. Due to the nature of the Mirage trait,  make sure to always focus on their match variation and what benefits this trait can bring to your team.

The most beneficial Mirage variations are Duelist's Dexterity, Executioner's Edge, and Spellsword's Enchantment. This does not mean you can’t play this comp without these, but they will 100% give you a better chance at winning your team fights than the others, so do keep that in mind when building your comp.

4. LmAo Shin (4 Tempest, 3 Mage)

With the implementation of the dragon system to TFT, it would make a lot of sense that the legendary ones would be among the most powerful characters in the entire game. That is definitely the case with Ao Shin, the tempest dragon.

To play this comp you will need:

  • Ao Shin - Main Carry
  • Sylas - Play as your tank
  • Orn
  • Heimerdinger
  • Lulu
  • Bard
  • Zoe

Item priority should be as follows: Mana (Tear of the Goddess), B.F. Sword, AP (Needlessly Large Rod)

Your main goal with your items should be to allow Ao Shin to use his ability as many times as possible, while also boosting his magic damage. That is why your items for Ao Shin should be a Spear of Shojin, Hextech Gunblade, and Archangel's Staff. Alternatively, you could also give him a Jeweled Gauntlet to allow his abilities and magic damage to critically attack.

Any defense items should be given to Sylas. If you have any extra magic damage items, make sure to give them to Zoe. Also do keep in mind that the sooner you play Lulu and Heimerdinger in your comp, the sooner you’ll have Nomsy which will allow it to be stronger in later rounds of the game.

3. Anivia - Shi Oh Yu (6 Jade, 3 Mystic)

Comps with 2 carries can be really strong, but a comp in which 1 of those 2 carries is a dragon can be INSANELY strong. Here is possibly the best comp you can play for Shi Oh Yu, taking advantage of both its Jade and Mystic trait at the same time.

To play this comp you will need:

  • Shi Oh Yu - Play as your main carry
  • Anivia - Can be played as a side carry
  • Neeko - Play as your tank
  • Gnar
  • Lulu
  • Bard
  • Yasuo

Item priority should be as follows: B.F. Sword, Recurve Bow, AP (Needlessly Large Rod)

As mentioned earlier, Shi Oh Yu is an insane troop as it can play both as a tank and a damage dealer at the same time. For that, you will need items such as the Bloodthirster and Titan’s Resolve. However, along with that, you will also be building items for your sneaky little damage dealer: Anivia.

Items such as Morellonomicon, Spear of Shojin, and Archangel's Staff will allow Anivia to constantly use its ability and deal loads of damage, while Shi Oh Yu finishes the troops off. Any defense items should be given to Neeko.

If possible, reroll at Lvl 7 to get Anivia to either two or three stars quickly. If your player has already taken too much damage, level up to Lvl 8 and try to get Shi Oh Yu and Neeko to at least 2 stars.

2. Corki Cannon (3 Revel, 3 Cannoneer, 3 Shimmerscale)

Corki Cannon is probably one of the most fun comps you can play in the entire game. Not only are there so many variations of it, but it will almost always end up with you in the top 4.

To play this comp you will need:

  • Corki - Main Carry (Obviously)
  • Sona - Side Carry
  • -das - Play as your tank
  • Lulu
  • Tristana
  • Jinx
  • Bard

Item priority for this comp should be as follows: Recurve Bow, B.F. Sword, AP (Needlessly Large Rod)

In this comp, you will prioritize Corki’s attack speed due to the cannoneer trait benefiting from fast-attacking troops. Splash damage is a big bonus, which is why it’s also important to get additional attack damage. Ideal items for Corki are Guinsoo’s Rageblade, Giantslayer, and Hand of Justice.

Now, it’s also important to keep in mind that once you have Idas in your comp, you will receive an extra item thanks to the Shimmerscale trait. If as a result of this you get Draven’s Axe, it’s basically gg for your opponents as this is an insanely overpowered item for Corki.

Any defense items should be given to your tank, Idas, and any magic attack boosts should be given to your side carry, Sona. With how her ability works, she will benefit massively from a Morellonomicon and a Spear of Shojin.

1. Aurelion Sol (6 Astral, 5 Mage)

It comes as no one's surprise that probably the most OP comp in set 7 of TFT uses Aurelion Sol as your carry. For a whopping 10 coins, Aurelion Sol will demolish your opponents, however, there are some things you have to keep in mind to play him properly.

*MUST HAVE* Make sure to only play this specific variation of Aurelion Sol if you have a Mage emblem

To play this comp you will need:

  • Aurelion Sol - Main Carry (Obviously)
  • Ilaoi - Play as your tank
  • Sylas
  • Heimerdinger
  • Vladimir
  • Lulu
  • Nami

Item priority should be as follows: Mana (Tear of the Goddess), Spatula, B.F. Sword

This is a pure magic damage-oriented comp. Therefore, you will need lots of AP and Mana items. For Aurelion Sol, aside from the must-have mage emblem, you will need a Hextech Gunblade and an Archangel's Staff. You could also replace the Hextech Gunblade for a Spear of Shojin or a Jeweled Gauntlet.

Any defense items should be given to Ilaoi and if possible Sylas as well. Nami is also very important in this comp, especially in the early game. You can give her similar items to Aurelion Sol and also a Statikk Shiv, which will help reduce the enemy team’s magic resist and boost your comps damage.

Thanks to the Astral trait, you can try and reroll at Lvl 7 for 3-star Nami and Ilaoi, however, it is more important to get to Lvl 8 in order to unlock Aurelion Sol quickly and level him up to 2-stars as soon as possible.

This is by no means an easy comp to play. It is very intense and expensive, however, if played properly you can easily sneak into the top 4 and even win your matches without any major inconveniences.
